HP Officejet-Paper Jam
It is very important to distinguish between an error that is present all the time when turned off and on again, and an error that is only present when trying to print something. If it is only showing when trying to print then the pickup rollers may be dirty, but sometimes the pickup mechanism fails completely and the wheels don’t turn at all in which case nothing can be done.
The other instance is where the error is present all the time, this can be misleading because you are looking for paper when in fact the carriage mechanism has failed. The printer wants to perform it’s usual initialisation but cannot move properly, this is generally down to heavy use and excess ink seizing up the printer. If the carriage doesn’t move when you turn it on then there’s very little that can be done, there is a chance that something could be caught in there but if you didn’t have jam before then this is unlikely.
Feel free to bring it down for confirmation though.
